Your vision, our mission...

With the Innovation workshops completed last week, we spent this week collating and validating the ideas and challenges and kicked off the preparation for the Revolution stage of DARE. Read on to find out what we’ve been doing…

Readiness Checks

With ongoing interest in the Innovation stage, we had the opportunity to run a further 7 workshops this week with a wide range of DA stakeholders from the Coverholder, Broker, Managing Agent and Underwriter communities.

We used these sessions to run through the end to end journey of a Re-imagined DA and validate the ideas that have been put forward by you, the DA community, throughout the Discovery and Innovation stages. This exercise was very helpful to the DARE team as we prepare to start documenting your vision for a reimagined DA, providing guidance as to the priority and value of individual elements of the vision.

Our thanks as always to everybody who attended and contributed to these final sessions, and a big shout out in particular to the teams at Aon, Canopius, Carbon and Falvey Group for your support this week.

We also had the pleasure this week of presenting an early draft of the end to end journey for a re-imagined DA to Sheila Cameron, CEO at the Lloyd’s Market Association. Your ideas were very well received and Sheila provided some great input to the project with regards next steps to building and delivering a vision for how things could be.

Building a vision, piece by piece…

We’re now in the process of designing and building your vision from a starting point that the vision for a reimagined DA is underpinned by a digital experience layer that:

  • Gives all stakeholder groups access to single solution that provides the information and tooling that they need to transact as efficiently as possible, wherever they are based across the world
  • Pulls together the right data into one place for those who need to see it, when they need to see it
  • Connects to the best tech solutions in the current insurance world and wider industries to automate as much of the current admin workload within DA as possible
  • Leverages the work within the Future at Lloyd’s change programme to connect with and utilise the solutions that add value and support your vision
  • Provides a step change for the DA market to move to a model of working that allows them to use a front end that connects to multiple services behind the scenes, and be able to change these services in future without the need to have to introduce a new system to stakeholders for them learn to use

In between the validation sessions this week, we mocked up some ideas about the different types of screens that might be needed by different stakeholder groups when signing up to a digital DA solution and bringing a proposition to market. These early drafts will no doubt change and mature over the coming weeks as we build out the ideas and details.

Making it real

From today we begin to design and document the vision for a re-imagined DA in earnest, based upon all of the great ideas and challenges that have been put forward by you, the DA community, in the Discovery and Innovation workshops.

We will be engaging with the Future at Lloyd’s team this week to share the details of this vision with them and understand how the different elements of the FAL programme might connect with your vision to deliver value. We will also start to engage with different solution providers within the insurance industry and beyond to identify possible options that allow us to use automation and workflow to reduce the current administration overhead and crucially, remove the duplication of activity that currently takes place because people cannot see the information that they need, when they need to see it.

This work will provide a roadmap of the services that are available right now to support your vision, and allow us to map out a roadmap of activities required to make it real.

Please do keep checking back each week for updates on how things are progressing and of course keep letting us know your thoughts and ideas. The workshops may be over but we’d love to keep the conversation going with you during this design stage.
